Our girl makes us proud!

Leah had a very big day today- she got her cavity drilled. I took her to the dentist about a month ago for the first time. We went to see a "family dentist" and it was an interesting experience. First they wanted to "count her teeth" with the little pointy thing, but she wasn't having that so they had to count with their finger. Then the girl wanted to look in her mouth with a mirror- that was okay. When it came time to brush her teeth, Leah wanted nothing to do with the "tickle brush", so she had to brush her teeth with a regular toothbrush. She did let her floss her teeth which really surprised me. Then the dentist came in to look and we started all over with not wanting anything pointy in her mouth. Leah about flew through the roof when the dentist tried to blow some air on her teeth. Somehow the dentist managed to find a cavity and said she would have to refer Leah to a pediatric dentist who would probably have to sedate her in order to fill the cavity.

The next week, we went to the pediatric dentist for a consultation. This appointment went very similar to the first one. This dentist tried very hard to take some x-rays, but with no luck. He told us to come back and he's fix the cavity without sedation OR novocaine. Needless to say, I was very skeptical!

So today was the big day. I tried my best to prepare Leah for what was ahead, but she went bouncing into the dentist without a care in the world. I was one nervous mama! They started with trying to clean her teeth with the "tickle brush" and again, she flipped out. But then the dentist came in and started telling her everything he was going to do. I laid on the end of the table at her feet and held her hands and she did EXCELLENT!!! She was so brave and so good. She didn't cry, or scream, or try to move. She just lay there with her mouth open and did everything he told her to do. I was SO PROUD of her! The whole thing took 15 or 20 minutes. We left there with her bouncing around and talking about the next time she visits the dentist. The dentist gave her 2 surprises and she got to go to her favorite store (Dollar Tree) and pick out 3 more.

To top of her good day, she ate all of her lunch at Grandma's house and ate all of her dinner at home tonight! (For those of you who know Leah well, getting her to eat a full meal is a challenge!) Today was definitely a win at the Compton house. We are so proud of our girl!

A new swing set!

The girls just got a new swing set from Grandma and Grandpa. They were SO EXCITED!! Daddy put it up for them on Wednesday, and we've been living outside ever since. Luckily, the weather has been gorgeous. Here's a few pictures:

Also this week, Leah has been insisting that she is going to make us dinner. I kept asking her what she wanted to make, to which she replied "dinner". I had a really hard time trying to think of something as my girls are extremely picky eaters! Their staple dinner food is chicken and I did NOT want Leah handling raw chicken. We finally decided to come up with a "crescent roll creation". So tonight Leah made dinner all by herself! First, she made us all Kool Aid to drink. Then we made various crescent pockets. Some were cheese and pepperoni sprinkled with a little garlic and oregano, some were plain cheese (for her and Amie), and some were ham and cheese. I must say, they were a hit! She was so proud of herself and we had absolutely no leftovers! Yay Leah!!

Going a little crazy with the cheese!

And lastly, just a few pictures of the girls that I love! The following two pictures were taken on the same day. They girls went upstairs to change (as Leah does a hundred times a day!) and came down dressed VERY differently!

These pictures are from Leah's birthday celebration with her Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Mellie, and Sophie (Melanie's dog). This is what Leah got from Grandma and Grandpa:

And a picture of my little model. Such a silly girl!
